Key learning outcomes
|
The main goal in studying cultural anthropology is to cultivate the discipline as a comparative study of human societies and the study of the present and past of humankind. It also aims at introducing principles of field research and acquiring competence in its applications in practice, adopting the theory and history of anthropology and the corresponding methodology. Students are able to employ the obtained knowledge on particular issues, evaluate and utilize different theoretical approaches of the discipline and understand the position of anthropology in relation to other disciplines that focus on humans, society and culture. The aim is to equip graduates with abilities to evaluate and interpret the obtained knowledge and deal with complex social, scientific and ethical issues in contemporary societies.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples
|
Graduates have basic knowledge of socio-cultural systems, know the history of anthropology as a scientific discipline, know theories, concepts and methods of social, cultural, physical, philosophical and historic anthropology. Graduates are able to critically evaluate the similarities and differences of socio-cultural systems from the point of view of socio-cultural plurality. Graduates are able to apply their knowledge of anthropological sub-disciplines (cultural and social anthropology, historic anthropology, physical anthropology and philosophical anthropology). Graduates are able to plan and carry out a field research and they are able to process and interpret the data. Graduates are prepared for the following professions: state administrative workers, non-profit organization employees, municipal administrative officials, experts in the field of communal administration, experts in the field of education, employees of research institutions.
