Course content
1. Written part of the exam (precondition for admission to the oral part). 1.1. CV (curriculum vitae) 1.2. Letter/e-mail/Essay (job application/scholarship application) 1.3. Language test: 1.3.1. Grammar: morphology + syntax (discussed grammatical phenomena) 1.3.2. Vocabulary (general vocabulary and discussed specialized vocabulary) 1.3.3. Translation of a connected text from Czech to German 1.3.4. Reading comprehension 1.3.6. Answering questions in German 2. Oral part of the exam 2.1. Presentation of written materials (see 1.1. + 1.2.): fluent, connected monologue about examinee´s specialized studies at Philosophical Faculty, plans for the future, contacts with German etc. 2.2. Interaction: adequate reactions on examiner´s questions 2.3. Working with a specialized text: reading comprehension 2.3.1. Finding a minimum 5-page-long specialized text in German (related to student´s major). The text is not assigned by the lecturer but chosen by the student. The exam requires two copies to be presented (the text must be clean, without added expressions and explanations in Czech) 2.3.2. Interpretation of text topic and content, discussion about the text 2.3.3. Reading and translation of a part of the text chosen by the examiner 2.3.4. Finding and writing out specialized terms (submitted at the exam)

Learning outcomes
The exam involves the contents of "German in Visual Arts 1-4 (KAL/NVU1-4)" courses. Its aim is to check students´ knowledge within the scope of basic literature. The course is entered into STAG together with NVU4 course.
Comprehensive development of all language skills - speaking, listening comprehension, reading, writing. Acquisition of basic vocabulary related to art history and working with various kinds of specialized texts. After successful completion of the whole course, the students will achieve target level of A2 of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Prerequisites
Sitting the exam is subject to prior successful completion of NVU1-4 courses.
KAL/NVU1 and KAL/NVU2 and KAL/NVU3

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam, Written exam

Passing written as well as oral part of the exam. Students may sit the exam by the end of exam period of the semester in which they enrolled for the course (and on the dates arranged by the lecturer). Sitting the exam is subject to prior successful completion of NVU1-4 courses.
