Learning outcomes
This is the fourth semester of a four-semester course for students with an intermediate level of English. The course concentrates on practising all the communication forms: speaking, listening, reading and writing, so that the students are not only able to communicate on the general English level but also to express themselves on topics related to their main study subjects. Length of the course: 4 semesters When the students fulfill all the requirements, they receive 2 credits at the end of each of the four semesters (the total of 8 credits). When the students succeed in fulfilling the requirements for all the four semesters, they can sit for the exam (ASZ). When they pass the exam, they receive 2 credits. Total number of credits for the course: 10 By attending the four-term course and passing the exam students reach the B2 level as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Reading, writing, listening and speaking skills within the range of grammar and vocabulary of units 7-12 of the coursebook, work with additional materials (subject-related texts) By attending the two-term course and passing the exam students reach the B2 level as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of English as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - level B1+.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Attendance (max. 2 absences, student has to be prepared regardless of his/her absence from the previous lesson), active participation, homework, credit test 70% A- 100-90% B- 89-85% C- 84-80% D- 79-75% E- 74-70%
