Learning outcomes
The goal of discipline is to introduce students to the methods of qualitative research and qualitative data analysis. Discipline provides the basis of qualitative approach, the basic framework, methods of obtaining and processing of qualitative data in anthropology. It focuses on practical application with regard to the implementation of field research.
After completing the course the student will be able to choose the appropriate qualitative methodology, prepare the design and propose a research plan with the individual steps. The student knows the basic methods of analysis of qualitative data, methods of data collection and assessment, can design a strategy of data analysis, evaluate data, can assess the quality of research, reflects the ethics of qualitative research and the limits of qualitative approaches. Student knows the methods of data analysis, can evaluate the obtained verbally, observation or from secondary sources.
Prerequisites
No prior requirements. Recommended knowledge of the English language.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

The ability to read and understand academic passages of text in English. Successful completion of the course is conditional upon reading the scientific literature in the English language in the 50 ts and ts 150 in the Czech language, developing a qualitative research project 10 ns, project presentation.
