Course content
|
Units 18, 19, 20, (21) U 18) Mobil in der Stadt: discuss advantages and disadvantages of vehicles, talk about conditions, communicate what you do (not) like doing, communicate what I always/occasionally do. Grammar: Indicating consequences: deshalb, verb werden in the present tense and preterit, passive, verb lassen. U 19: Das finde ich schön. Description of people and things, discuss beauty and fashion, favorite clothes, what do you (not) like wearing. Comprehend contact advertisement. Grammar: Adjectives with indefinite article, possessive pronoun and negative pronoun, adjectives without article, prepositions with accusative (ohne, für). U 20: Komm doch mit! Discuss free time activities, what you do (not) like doing. Express opinion. Give advice. Reading and listening text about football. Grammar: pronouns without nouns (einer, meiner, keiner//eine, meine, keine//eins, meins, keins), pronouns/numerals: man, jemand, niemand, alle, viele, einige, etwas nichts; reflexive verbs with accusative. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- U 21: Arbeitssuche. Discuss job and job seeking, job experiences. Job interview by phone. Comprehend professional biography. Grammar: Adjectives with definite article, relative clause (relative pronoun with nominative and accusative). Current academic texts for reading and short videos for listening.

Learning outcomes
|
This is the third semester of a four-semester course. The course concentrates on practising all the competencies: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Development of the receptive and productive language skills in general German: speaking listening reading writing Reading of academic texts (B1-2) Output language level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Prerequisites

Recommended input language knowledge for this course: Lower Intermediate German - A2. Important: every student must have printed version of the textbook Berliner Platz 2 neu.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Didactic Test
It is required to sign up in the electronic system STAG at the beginning of the semester and printed version of the textbook Berliner Platz 2 neu. Credit: 1. Course attendance - maximum of 2 absences. 2. Regular home preparation, especially written homeworks. (Absence from the classes is in no case a reason for being unprepared in the following tutorial. If the student is not prepared, he can be regarded as being absent.) 3. Passing all so-called "small" tests during the semester (passing level always min. 70%). Students who have not achieved given passing level shall write a comprehensive credit test in the following exam period. It is possible to repeat an unsuccessfull "small" test but no later than 2 weeks after it has been written. Only students who wish to take the credit test will register in STAG for a term. Warning: Students are obliged to finish every course by the end of exam period of the semester in which they enrolled for the course (and only on the terms set by the teacher)!
