The course focuses on the preparation of a research project, selected techniques of data collection and its verification in pre-research. In lectures, key terms and contexts are explained and demonstrated on examples of specific research.
Students gain knowledge of methods of sociological research, understand the individual steps of quantitative research strategies, compare the advantages and disadvantages of different research procedures. They learn how to apply the acquired knowledge (ie decide on the way of data collection, sample selection, prepare or critically take over the research technique, perform pre-research, or collect small data, process and evaluate acquired data, revise its own research technique, etc.).
