Advancing students' fluency in English conversation and interaction For example: Discourse and communication Making successful presentations Starting a working relationship Writing formal letters Verbs of communication Telephone English I+II Offering, accepting and declining Writing essays Active listening Concrete topics will be announced at the beginning of the semester Within the framework of the project UPlift - Rozšíření a systematizace výuky ve světových jazycích na FF UP, reg. č. Learning outcomes
The students will expand their knowledge of English, both theoretical and practical. The course will focus on developing and reinforcing communication skills through communication activities, role-playing, case studies, group discussions and oral presentations. The students will test their command of English in practice. By attending the two-term course and passing the exam students reach the C1 level as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Prerequisites
Knowledge of English as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - level B2.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Attendance - maximum 2 absences. Absence is no excuse for not being prepared (in the following lesson). Active participation Completion of all the assignments The final test will take place on the dates set by the teacher. No other dates will be available. To obtain the credit the students must fulfill all the requirements not later than by the end of the examination period of the semester they registered for this course.
