Course content
Units 4 - 6 of the textbook Berliner Platz neu - 1 (+ Unit 3 if needed) U 4: Wie spät ist es? What time is it? Parts of the day. Weekdays. Discuss daily routine. Make an appointment. Understand more complex text about daily routine. Grammar: Sentence frame and verbs with separable prefix, inverted sentence: time in the first position, identify past time in text (past perfekt). U 5: Was darf es sein? Buying food. Understand selling-buying interviews, understand recipe and buying list. Listening: phone call. Grammar: information about quantity, plural of substantives, accusative, verbs with accusative. U 6: Familienleben. Family life. Family members. Talk about family. Telling and writing the date. Discuss birthdays and past events. Write an invitation and thank for it. Reading: text about birthday´s habits in Germany. Grammar: possessive pronouns (summary), ordinal numbers, simple past of sein and haben. ------------------------------------------------------------- U3 if needed: Was kostet das? Discuss price. Sell/buy interviews. Description of the goods. Understand sell-buy advertisement. Vocabulary: ordinary things in the bag. Grammar: Numerals 201-1.000 000, possessive pronouns, negative pronoun kein.

Learning outcomes
This is the second semester of the four-semester course German for Beginners for general purpose. For students of the Philosophical Faculty only. Development of the language competencies: reading, listening, speaking, writing on elementary level - A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Prerequisites
Registration can be made only on condition that the student has successfully passed the course NZ1. For students of Philosophical Faculty only. Recomended language level - A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Written exam

It is required to sign up in the electronic system STAG at the beginning of the semester. Credit: 1. Course attendance - maximum of 2 absences. Absence from the classes is in no case a reason for being unprepared in the following tutorial. 2. Regular home preparation, especially written homeworks (if the student is not prepared, he can be regarded as being absent). 3. Passing all so-called "small" tests during the semester (passing level always min. 70%). Warning: Students are obliged to finish every course by the end of exam period of the semester in which they enrolled for the course (and only on the terms set by the teacher)!
