Course content
|
Units 21, 22, 23, 24 U 21: Arbeitssuche. Discuss job and job seeking, job experiences. Job interview by phone. Comprehend professional biography. Grammar: Adjectives with definite article, relative clause (relative pronoun with nominative and accusative). U 22: Alltag und Medien. Discuss media, understand statistics, TV-habits, argumentation, reading texts about media. History of TV in Germany. Grammar: Interrogative pronoun welcher, pronoun dieser, adjectives with the endings -ig, -isch, -lich, -bar, -los and the prefix un-. U 23: Die Politik und ich. Political life. Discuss politics, express causality, talking about the past. Reading and listening texts about voluntarism. Expressing emotions. Grammar: Verbs with prepositions, past simple. U 24: Bei uns und bei euch. Etiquette, politeness and correct behaviour. Invitation, rules of etiquette, intercultural differences. Apologies, wishes, thanks. Grammar: Prepositions with dative, subordinate clauses. Current academic texts for reading and short videos for listening.

Learning outcomes
|
This is the last semester of a four-semester course. The course concentrates on practising all the competencies: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Development of the receptive and productive language skills in general German: speaking listening reading writing Reading of academic texts (B1-2) Output language level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Recommended language knowledge for this course: Lower Intermediate German A2.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Didactic Test
It is required to sign up in the electronic system STAG at the beginning of the semester. Credit: 1. Course attendance - maximum of 2 absences. 2. Regular home preparation, especially written homeworks. (Absence from the classes is in no case a reason for being unprepared in the following tutorial. If the student is not prepared, he can be regarded as being absent.) 3. Passing all so-called "small" tests during the semester (passing level always min. 70%). Students who have not achieved given passing level shall write a comprehensive credit test in the following exam period. It is possible to repeat an unsuccessfull "small" test but no later than 2 weeks after it has been written. Warning: Students are obliged to finish every course by the end of exam period of the semester in which they enrolled for the course (and only on the terms set by the teacher)!
