Latham-Koenig, Christina, Oxenden, Clive. (2012). English File third edition (Pre-intermediate). Oxford: Oxford University Press. Units 10-12 + materials related to the field of study.

Learning outcomes
This is the fourth semester of a four-semester course for students with a pre-intermediate level of English. The course concentrates on practising all the communication forms: speaking, listening, reading and writing so that the students are not only able to communicate on the general English level but also to express themselves on topics related to their main study subjects, i.e. psychology (educational psychology). By attending the course and passing the exam, students will reach B1 level as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Length of the course: 4 semesters When students fulfil all the requirements, they receive 2 credits at the end of each of the four semesters (the total of 8 credits). When students succeed in fulfilling the requirements for all the four semesters, they can sit for the exam (APSMZ). When they pass the exam successfully, they receive 2 credits. Total number of credits for the course: 10
Competences: reading, writing, listening and speaking (units 10-12) + complementary materials related to the field of study. By attending the four-term (APSM1-4) course and passing the exam, students will reach B1 level as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of English as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - level A2.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

-Attendance - maximum 2 absences. Absence is no excuse for not being prepared for the following lesson. -Active participation. -Short tests during the semester. -Preparing a presentation on a chosen topic. -Completion of all the assignments. -Final written test (min. 70%). To obtain the credit, the students must fulfill all the requirements not later than by the end of the examination period of the semester they registered for this course.
