Course content
1. German idealism. 2. Voluntarism, irrationalism. 3. Positivism. 4. Marxism. 5. Pragmatism. 6. Neopositivism, philosophy of language. 7. Phenomenology. 8. Hermeneutics. 9. Contemporary theory of science. 10. Philosophy of dialogue. 11. Existentialism. 12. Philosophical Anthropology, postmodern philosophy.

Learning outcomes
The course provides general insight into philosophical issues and philosophical thinking style. It defines status of philosophy within the system of science and introduces the basic philosophical terminology. The objective of the course is to provide students with factual and issue overview of development of philosophy from its origins in Greece up to the present. Special attention is paid to more recent philosophy and discussions, on which contemporary philosophical thinking participates. Students should get an overview of the different streams and their representatives, as well as about the meaning of philosophical inquiry, the role of philosophy in the spiritual human culture and its position among other sciences.
The aim of this course is to be familiarized with various philosophical discourses, search for the meaning of philosophical questioning. Students define key issues of the history of philosophy, characterize fundamental philosophical discourses and their representatives, discuss issue of meaning of philosophical questioning and evaluate the role of the philosopher in the spiritual culture of humanity.

Oral exam, Written exam

Active participation in class (80 %), study the assigned readings, participation on discussions, completion of final tests and success rate at oral examination.
