Course content

Units 3 to 5 of AULA INTERNACIONAL 1 Topics: UNIDAD 3: Dónde está Santiago? - description of places, expression of existence and location; weather, geography, places of interest - basic use of the verbal form HAY; the verb ESTAR, the superlative, indefinite articles, quantifiers mucho/a, interrogative pronouns UNIDAD 4: Cuál prefieres? - expression of necessity; shopping - asking for a product and its price, preferences; numerals from 100, colours, clothing, objects of daily use; - demonstrative pronouns, verbs IR and PREFERIR, verbal form TENER QUE, interrogative pronouns qué and cuál UNIDAD 5: Tus amigos son mis amigos - description and characteristics, interests, favourite things, relationships; family, music - the verb GUSTAR, quantifiers muy, bastante and un poco, possession, differences between también and tampoco The course programme can be modified or extended by the teacher according to the needs of the group. The exact course structure will be available on an ongoing basis on Moodle.

Learning outcomes
|
Second semester of the four-semester course of Spanish for beginners and false beginners. The course focuses on all communication skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing so that students could communicate not only in general Spanish but also use Spanish for special purposes (talking about their field of study).
Students will obtain basic knowledge of communication in Spanish A1+: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Spanish knowledge equivalent to the UNITS 0 to 2 of AULA INTERNACIONAL 1 (nueva edición).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam, Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Dialog
- enrollment in STAG and Moodle at the beginning of the term; availability via the university e-mail - attendance (a maximmum of two absences per semestre is permitted; the absence cannot be the reason for not being prepared in the following class - discipline, concentration and active participation in the class - regular fulfillment of tasks and homework (as specified in the Moodle course; it is necessary to log in regularly), being prepared (includes bringing the required materials such as textbooks - paper form is strongly recommended) - all particulars to obtain credits (in-lesson tests, mid-term test, final test, etc. as set by the teacher)
