Course content
1. A thousand and one Italy talk about languages and dialects, talk about your own school experiences, talk about intercultural relationships, describe some aspects of your country 2. On a human scale describe positive and negative aspects of a place, talk about gastronomic culture, describe consumption habits, make hypotheses 3. Treasuries of Italy talk about positive and negative aspects of tourism, take a stand for or against something, talk about protecting the artistic and natural heritage, talk about unrealized hypotheses

Learning outcomes
This is the fourth semester of a four-semester course for students with a pre-intermediate level of Italian. The course concentrates on practicing all the communication forms: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Student can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
Prerequisites
Student can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

Written exam, Student performance, Written exam

Attendance - maximum 2 absences. Absence is no excuse for not being prepared in the following lesson. Active participation. Completion of all the assignments. Final written test. To obtain the credit, the students must fulfill all the requirements not later than by the end of the examination period of the semester they registered for this course.
