Course content
The follow-up course aims to familiarize students with a basic overview of psychotherapy schools and their application in patient care. The psychological principles of psychosomatic medicine, patient-centred personality psychology, prevention and management of burnout syndrome, and defence mechanisms are also discussed. The aim of the subject is the students' ability to understand basic psychological principles and methods and their application in medical practice. Established successful contact between patient and physician is important for the complex care of the patient.

Learning outcomes
To establish a favorable contact with the patient as an important part of therapy and the optimal care of patients.
Students will be able to evaluate the patient's history from the view of psychiatric knowledge based on psychiatric interview, provide evaluation of the disorder and suggest the therapeutic approach.
