Key learning outcomes The objective of the study programme is the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the area of the theory and practice of translation and interpreting. The aim is to gain a practical knowledge of the Polish language, as well as to acquire a linguistic, literary-historical, and cultural overview. In the linguistic area of the study programme, students will focus on synchronic aspects of the Polish language. They will be introduced to the norms of the standard Polish language, its stylistics, and its functional styles. In courses dealing with both Polish culture and history of literature, students will concentrate on an appropriate understanding of texts and, in general, on an elaboration of the knowledge of Polish culture. The aim of the study is to reach the C1 level according to the Common European Framework of reference; that is, advanced/proficient user.
