Key learning outcomes The study is focused on obtaining a basic overview of Russian grammar, vocabulary and 19th and 20th century literature. The aim is to achieve the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. A partial goal is improve English language (B1-B2) and a second Slavic language - Polish, Ukrainian (basic level). A block of non-philological economic subjects must also be passed.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples Graduates will acquire an awareness of the grammatical and lexical systems of contemporary Russian and a familiarity with the major movements and texts in Russian literature. They will gain general cultural knowledge and a deeper understanding of Russian history as well as life and institutions. Graduates will be able to translate technical texts on the intermediate level and to act as informative interpreters. They will have an intermediate command of English and an elementary knowledge of another Slavic language. Graduates will also be familiar with elementary knowledge and skills in the fields of economics and tourism. The level of their Russian language skills will correspond to B2. Graduates will find employment in a wide range of professional jobs, e.g. in cultural institutions, translation agencies, travel agencies, companies engaged in foreign commerce, and the media. Students will also have the opportunity for further education in the Master's programme "Russian philology."
