Epidemiologická situace v poslední době dokázala naprosto nezbytnou a nenahraditelnou úlohu epidemiologie pro monitorování a studium podmínek výskytu infekčních onemocnění k navržení efektivních protiepidemických opatření a ochraně veřejného zdraví.
The recent epidemiological situation has demonstrated the significant and irreplaceable role of epidemiology in monitoring and studying the conditions for the occurrence of infectious diseases to design effective anti-epidemic measures giving public predictable plans and protect public health. Measures of measles, tuberculosis, polio, viral haemorrhagic fevers, influenza, plague or hantavirus infections are currently considered to be the cross-border threats. Infectious disease COVID-19 is highly topical due to its adverse health, economic, political and psychosocial consequences. With regard to the ongoing pandemic, the main goal of this diploma thesis is to compare different anti-epidemic approaches in selected countries (The Czech Republic, Sweden, Italy, New York), related, among other things, to different epidemiological or political situations. Based on the analysis of the literature and anonymized, publicly available data from officially published and credible sources, the interpolation and interconnection of established anti-epidemic measures is evaluated in order to predict the epidemic development in the defined countries in the first half of 2020.
