The thesis deals with the motivation of students to study geology and paleontology in primary and especially in secondary schools. The thesis focuses in particular on the description of the issues of education within the Framework Educational Plans, which are an integral part of the educational policy of the Czech education system. The aim of this thesis was to identify and highlight the issues which significantly affect the quality of education in the field of science (Human and Nature) within the education of inanimate nature in primary and secondary schools. During the analysis of the content of the thesis,
comparative methods were also used to ensure balance of the content. Methods used in this thesis, such as museum education, experiential pedagogy and flow, can greatly assist in the acquisition of knowledge in the field of geological sciences. These are non-violent methods that can ensure better student performance in school and also generate greater interest in this
science. Suggesting measures for further education in the field of science, specifically in paying attention to the topic of geology, is where the author sees the greatest contribution of this rigorous thesis.
