Informace o kvalifikační práci The effect of blocked versus random training schedules on boccia skills performance in experienced athletes with cerebral palsy (CP)
Přestože tyto nálezy nebyly podpořeny statistickou signifikací, jednotlivé kasuistiky a poznámky sportovců a trenérů podporují praktickou významnost použití metody blokové praxe a zjištění, že osoby s DMO mohou mít problémy s přepojováním pozornosti spojeným s metodou rozptýlené praxe. Další nálezy: 1) důležitost zaměřit trénink na procvičování boccia odhodových dovedností a hru v zadní části hracího pole; 2) lepší výsledky testování boccia dovedností u hráčů kategorie BC3 užívajících pomocných zařízení v porovnání s hráči BC2 odhazujících samostatně.
Anotace v angličtině
Efficiently maximising sporting performances through structuring of training sessions has become a very important focus. The aim of this study is to measure the effect of blocked versus random training schedules on boccia skills performance in athletes with CP in a two-group pre and post-test design.
A sample of 14 experienced athletes with CP participated and were divided into two groups. Both groups followed prescribed blocked (7 athletes) and random (7 athletes) training schedules implemented for 10 weeks. Measurements were taken at baseline and after intervention using original testing procedures measuring boccia skills performances of 1) jack and first ball placement shots, and 2) ability to draw onto the jack ball plus 3) ability to drive the jack ball away at 3 different set lengths.
Results showed a greater improvement in boccia skills in the group of athletes using blocked practice schedules. Three participants in the random practice group did not show overall improvement in boccia skills performance whereas all participants in the blocked practice group did. In spite of these findings not being supported by statistical significance, looking at separate cases and following athletes and coaches? remarks, practical significance strengthens the use of blocked practice and supports findings that persons with CP may have problems in switching attention connected with random practice. Other findings: 1) importance to stress practice on the boccia skills at longer distances and playing in the farthest part of the boccia court; 2) better measurement results (scores) in pre and post-tests for BC3 players using assistive devices compared to BC2 throwing players.
