Course objectives:
The aim of the course is to provide students with advanced methods of construction and quality assessment of psychodiagnostic tests.


Requirements on student
The subject requires credit and examination. Students receive credit for active participation in lessons. The examination is in a written form and consists of a series of questions related to the course topics. There will be on one hand theoretical questions (e.g.. the properties of certain methods, explanation of some concepts etc.), on a second hand then they can involve an interpretation of the results of psychometric data and even minor calculations.

Content
The course consists of three thematic blocks:

- Introduction to epidemiology, sensitivity and specificity of a test, ROC analysis, procedures for determining the threshold value.
- Item response theory (IRT), basic IRT models, DIF analysis and other techniques, adaptive testing, comparison IRT and CTT.
- Structural modelling (path analysis, confirmatory factor analysis).

Prerequisites - other information about course preconditions
Successful completion of Statistical Methods in Psychology 1 and 2 and Psychometry 1 courses. The course can be completed without meeting these prerequisites.
Competences acquired
Students will understand the principles of advanced methods of working with psychometric data and a construction of psychodiagnostic tests. They will also be able to the situations in which the introduced methods can be affectively used and the will be able to interpret their results.
