Course objectives:
|
Seminar is aimed on deepening subject matter from lectures,it offers more topics connected to space-settlement topics in Paleolithic and Mesolithic archeology and it takes advantage from current local as well as foreignpublications. Students will prepare a presentation from recommended scientific literature connected to the problematics and they will present it in form of a short lecture, then they will discuss the topic together. Another goal is a work on team project. In this project students will apply theories and methods they have learned on concrete Paleolithic research - space analysis of specific locality or settlement area. The main task will consist ofintegration and interconnection of different data types from different databases on the ground oftheir position in space followed by common analysis and interpretation.

Requirements on student
|
Attendance in classes, (26 hours = 1 credits); study of informational sources (25 hours = 1 credit); preparation of presentation and team project (25 hours = 1 credit).

Content
|
1. Selection and assignments of topics for presentations, orientation on specific research and current discussed problematics. Proposal of the project, its content and methodology of analysis, distribution of specific project tasks.
2. - 9. Consultations and discussions with the lecturer according to studied information sources, preparation of presentation and individual works on team-project according to assigned tasks.
10. - 13. Individual students presentations and discussion about presented topics; team presentations and evaluation of team-project results, discussion.

Basic proficiency in the problematics of Paleolithic and Mesolithic periods, survey in literature, submission to the course: Settlement Archeology of hunt-collect Societies.

Proficiency in current Paleolithic/Mesolithic archeology, survey in basic literature, ability to propose appropriate methodology and followed it with appropriate analysis and interpretation of Paleolithic/Mesolithic research in settlement-space contex, improvement of writing, presenting and teamwork skills. |
