Course objectives:
|
The lecture includes a description of vocalic, consonantal and suprasegmental phonemes of the contemporary standard stage German on the general linguistic background. Further the phonotactic orthoepic and orthographic realization of the phonemes is analyzed according to the regions, possibly dialectal territories, and in contrast to other Germanic languages, or the mother tongue. An analysis and interpretation of phonematic functions in morphology and lexicology of German completes the contents of the lecture.

Regular attendance, lecture and exercise will be completed with an written test.

Content
|
Contents of the lecture: basic knowledge of phonetics and phonology of the German language, the definition these disciplines, basics and methods, German phonemes and their transcription. The lecture is continued by practical exercise which focuses mainly on the elimination of typical German pronunciation mistakes of Czech students.
