The aim of this course is to prepare a master diploma thesis. The first part of the seminar introduces the students to methodological and academic rules of writing a diploma thesis. They learn how to look for sources and work with them, how to cite primary and secondary sources, how to refer to them in the bibliography, especially within the framework of French philology, French usage and orthographic and orthotypographic rules in French.
|
Requirements on student

To pass this class, the student have to fulfil all the necessary requirements given by the teacher and hand in a part of their master diploma thesis.
|
Content
|
1. French bibliographical norms and traditions
2. The comment apparatus and bibliography
3. Formal textual requirements (orthography and orthotypography)
4. Electronic sources of information for French philology
Another part of the seminars is based on individual cooperation of the supervisor with the students in relation to the specific theme of the work.
