Výskumný súbor tvorilo 3092 študenti/študentky gymnázií a stredných odborných škôl ČR a SR. K hlavným zisteniam patrí identifikovanie signifikantných rozdielov v rizikovom správaní u českých a slovenských dospievajúcich.

The research study aimed to test prosociality and self-regulation as protective factors for risk behaviors in adolescence. We assumed that the lower levels of prosociality and self-regulation adolescents have, the less risk behaviors will be observed in them.
To accomplish the stated objectives, we chose a quantitative design of the work using a questionnaire battery. The research population consisted of 3092 male/female students of grammar schools and secondary vocational schools in Czechia and Slovakia. The main findings include the identification of significant differences in risk behavior between Czech and Slovak adolescents. Based on this finding, we can formulate specific conclusions for Slovak and Czech adolescents.
In Slovak adolescents, we found significant differences in self-regulation in relation to risk behavior, and thus we can consider this factor as protective, which is not true for prosociality, where we did not find significant differences. Among Czech adolescents, we found inconsistent results in prosociality in relation to risk behaviour. The analysis of our results suggests that prosociality cannot be considered a protective factor in relation to abuse, delinquency and bullying, but it appears to be a protective factor against the manifestations of risk behaviour in the school environment. We can also consider adolescent self-regulation as a protective factor.
We believe that the results of our work will contribute to a deeper understanding of the protective potential of prosociality and self-regulation and become a starting point or inspiration for further research in this area.
