Instruktoři sebeobrany v České republice výuku upravují podle svého úsudku a potřeb jedince s tělesným postižením, případně obsah tréninků konzultují s kolegy. Ačkoliv instruktoři projevují zájem o metodické materiály, v České republice tyto materiály chybí.

This thesis deals with the topic of self-defense and violence against people with disabilities, especially physical disabilities. The main objectives of the thesis were to describe selected aspects of self-defence for people with disabilities and to find out what methodologies Czech self-defence instructors use to train people with disabilities. In order to achieve the objectives, the study used mainly a research and questionnaire method (survey). The topic of violence against people with disabilities in the Czech Republic is dealt with by the organization In IUSTITIA, which has recently compiled statistics on the prevalence of violence against people with disabilities, which were previously missing in the Czech environment. These statistics and foreign research show a higher prevalence of violence against people with disabilities than people without disabilities. The area of self-defence for people with disabilities is mainly dealt with by the Faculty of Sports Studies of Masaryk University, which publishes works on this topic and has also organised self-defence courses for people in wheelchairs. There are several clubs in the Czech Republic offering self-defence lessons for wheelchair users, but
there are not many of them. Self-defence instructors in the Czech Republic adapt the lessons according to their judgement and the needs of the disabled individual, or consult with colleagues on the content of the training. Although instructors are interested in methodological materials, there is a lack of such materials in the Czech Republic.
