Prostate cancer (CaP) is one of the most frequent malignancies and the most common cause of death in men. This is a heterogeneous disease that currently does not have reliable diagnostic and predictive markers and very often there is indicated an inadequately aggressive therapy. The main focus of current research on CaP is therefore finding and testing of new biomarkers. Such a marker could also be a TMPRSS2-ERG gene fusion.
