In this thesis I would like to focus on motives of insanity and madness of book characters and situations in literature of Victorian Period. More specifically, I will examine Carroll's Alice and her behavior, whether she was sane or insane. Through the same process of examination I will put more than just Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but also some more books like Jane Eyre or The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins.
