Vibrational spectroscopy IR (infrared) spectroscopy - theory and reality of molecular vibrations, fundamental vibrations of N-atom molecules, characteristic wavenumbers of vibrations of several functional groups, experimental setup, exploitation of vibrational absorption Raman spectroscopy (RS) - comparison with IR, selection rules, principle, Stokes and anti-Stokes, exploitation Resonance Raman spectroscopy (RRS) - principle and application Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) - principle, nanoparticles of noble metals, detection on single-molecule level, applications Others sophisticated techniques of RS/SERS: micro-Raman, NSOM, TERS
