Course objectives:
|
The aim of this course is to introduce to students modern microscale analytical techniques and miniaturized analytical techniques.
|
Requirements on student
|
The examination is done by a test (minimally 60 % points should be correct) and by an oral colloquium on two optional themes.

Content
|
1. Microscopy, fluorescence microscopy (chemical reactions, immunochemical staining, reconstruction), histochemistry
2. Flow cytometry, laser microdissection
3. Atomic force microscopy, scanning probe microscopy, Raman spectrometry, mechanical nanoscale operations
4. Sensors, microsensors, nanopores, stochastic sensing
5. Micrototal analytical systems (microTAS), lab-on-a-chip, microfluidics, physics of microsystems
6. Microfluidic devices - materials and technologies
7. Microfluidic devices - hydrodynamic and electrokinetic flow, injection, separation
8. Microfluidic devices - detection, mass spectrometry, regulation
9. Applications of microfludic devices - droplet chemistry, PCR, sequenators, proteomics
10. Applications of microfludic devices - diagnostics, immunochemistry
11. Low cost chips (paper technology), electrowetting on dielectrics, digital microfluidics
