Course objectives:
|
Students will broaden their geographical knowledge about the region of Central Europe and further develop their skills in applying geographical methods in studying a selected region. Moreover they will excercise their skills in communicating in English about regional geographical topics.

Requirements on student
|
Active participation in the seminar, engagment in the discussions and seminar presentation on a selected topic. Communication skills in English, intermediate level, are expected.

Content
|
Studenti si prohloubí geografické znalosti o regionu střední Evropy a upevní své dovednosti aplikace geografických metod při zkoumání vybraného regionu. Zároveň se procvičí v dovednosti komunikovat o regionálně geografických tématech v angličtině.
Hlavní témata: 1. Vymezení regionu střední Evropy. 2. Fyzická geografie střední Evropy. 3. Demografické charakteristiky států střední Evropy. 4. Stručný nástin historického vývoje střední Evropy s důrazem na období 19. až 21. století. 5. Charakteristika hospodářství střední Evropy. 6. Integrační procesy v prostoru střední Evropy. 7. Regionální disparity ve střední Evropě. 8. Aktuální problémy a trendy vývoje ve střední Evropě.
