Course content
The content of practice is the provision of basic nursing care by the method of nursing process for a group of pediatric patients focusing on needs in the areas: health promotion, nutrition, excretion, activity, rest, perception - cognition, self-perception, relationships, sexuality, stress management, safety-protection , comfort, growth and development. The student implements and documents individualized nursing care of a child patient by the method of nursing process in specific conditions - performs clinical assessment of the child's needs, performs nursing diagnostics, proposes a care plan, implements nursing interventions and evaluates the effect of provided care . The student participates in education at ambulances. The student is able to independently and aggressively approach the activities of care, is able to handle difficult situations, manages the performance of basic and specialized nursing care in common situations according to standards of care. Supervision is realized in practice.

Learning outcomes
Nursing practice takes place in nursing units that are part of the children's ward. Students are led by tutors and mentors of nursing practice in medical facilities.

Prerequisites
Completion of practice in the 1st year.
OSE/DSB04 and OSE/DSB03 and OSE/DSA22 and OSE/DSB05 and OSE/DSA06

Assessment methods and criteria

Students will practice and test in the FNO - Pediatric Clinic and Neonatal Dept. > Obligations of the student before the exam: by the end of the 5th week of practice the student will send the prepared documentation to the tutor (assessment, 2 plans, implementation) > ZK will consist of two parts: oral including evaluation of the submitted documentation and practical part Ment Authorized mentor assesses and evaluates the student during the whole practice in all areas (nursing process, professional approach and implementation of nursing activities) 7. During the 7th - 8th week of practice the tutor will observe the student in the department. in all areas of practice (nursing process, professional approach and implementation of nursing activities). An interview (15 minutes) will then take place between the student, mentor and tutor including the student's assessment. Date and time the tutor attended will be notified to the student in advance. > Evidence of completion in practice record.
