Course content
Orthopaedics is a medical specialty focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions and injuries affecting the musculoskeletal system. This course serves as an essential foundation in orthopedic medicine, catering to students pursuing basic medical training. With a focus on the diagnosis, students are equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills appropriate for the basic training in medicine.

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Observation, Demonstration, Projection (static, dynamic)
Learning outcomes
Student will get acquainted with general principles of orthopaedic surgery; they will be introduced into prevention, diagnostics and therapy of the most frequent orthopaedic diseases. Special attention will be given to acute events in orthopaedics. The aim is to offer the students basic theoretical overview as well as practical styles, habits appropriate for ambulatory and hospital practices and emergency units.
Graduates are able to understand basic orthopaedic terminology, diagnostic algorithms, and therapeutic interventions. They are able to obtain patient history related to musculoskeletal diseases, perform basic examination of musculoskeletal system, understand general principles of technical orthopaedics and postoperative care.
Prerequisites
1) Anatomy and physiology of the MS system 2) Basic pathologies of MS tissues 3) Knowledge on the diagnostic methods (lab, imaging, physiotherapy) 4) Basic treatments (pharmacological, non-pharmacological incl. physiotherapy) 5) Practical skills related to obtainig patient history.
