Learning outcomes
The course is a basic subject forming the third pillar of the study programme, focusing on the development of professional skills and general competences of the student, specifically on the student's ability to present the acquired knowledge and skills in a scientific text and in a professional scientific forum. The course is designed as a four-semester course, with the demands of student performance in the course increasing as the semesters progress. The course builds primarily on the philosophical-methodological foundations of law and scientific propedeutics and is designed for students majoring in Legal History and Roman Law. During the semester, the student is obliged to choose a topic for his/her scientific paper in cooperation with his/her supervisor (identify the problem to be solved) and to prepare this scientific paper in such a way that it is eligible for presentation at a scientific conference (ability to present the solution to the chosen problem). Active participation in the conference includes writing the paper and publishing it in the conference proceedings. In the event that the conference proceedings are not prepared, this obligation may exceptionally be waived in agreement with the supervisor. Considering that this is the third, i.e. penultimate, year of the study programme, the student is required to demonstrate continuous progress in the dissertation in order to advance to the next year. In order to successfully complete the course, the student is required to prepare and submit to his/her advisor a comprehensive dissertation passage of at least 30 pages of text.
The student's ability to present the acquired knowledge and skills in a scientific text and at a professional scientific forum.
