Learning outcomes
The Applied Criminal Law follows the subjects Substantive Criminal Law 1 and 2 and Criminal Procedural Law 1 and 2. Its aim is to deepen the knowledge gained in these subjects and develop their ability to apply them to specific cases. During this course, students will deepen their knowledge of substantive criminal law and especially criminal procedural law, develop their ability to analyze a particular criminal case, including the ability to identify various options for solving it, acquire the skills needed to use criminal law in criminal proceedings. Attention will be focused on several categories of crime, especially violent crimes, traffic crimes, drug crimes and others. After completion of the course, students will be acquainted with the specifics related to the prosecution of such crimes, in particular in the area of taking of evidence and sanctions.
Students who have completed this subject will gain basic practical skills necessary for some specific legal professions (policeman, prosecutor, judge, barrister).
Prerequisites
Completion of this subject is conditional upon completion of the subject Subtantive Criminal Law 2 and Criminal Prcedural Law 2.
