|
The subject represents the basic subject of the second pillar of the study program focused primarily on the development and deepening of the student's knowledge in the field of Criminal Law. The essence of the course is the development of the student's ability to correctly analyze the legal case, determine the legal standards that apply to the case, and the ability to correctly apply the selected legal standard. Students must also be able to present their legal case scientifically. Therefore, the prerequisites of the subject are mastery of philosophical-methodological foundations of law and scientific and pedagogical propedeutics. The essence of the course is the participation of the student in professional seminars, where students receive a complex criminal case. This case must be solved by self-study according to the requirements of the seminar tutor and then presented to the teacher not only to the teacher but also to other students of the study program so that they will succeed in the subsequent scientific discussion, which will provoke their solution. The presentation of the solution emphasizes on the presentation of selected methodological procedures, as well as literature and case law, which the student used in the solution. The seminar is conceived as a four-semester course, with emphasis on selected institutes of criminal law within each semester. The third semester focuses primarily on the area of criminal procedural law, specifically on the basic principles of criminal proceedings, means of detention and evidence, but given that the degree program is a graduate of the master's degree program, it is assumed knowledge of the entire issue of criminal law and emphasis is placed on all context of the problem solved, including the substantive context.
Students who have completed this course will gain the knowledge necessary to understand the features of law.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
Active participation in 80% of seminars (full-time students) including presentations on a given topic. The student of combined form of study must attend at least 30% of seminars and two-hour individual consultations.
