Learning outcomes
|
The subject represents the basic subject of the second pillar of the study program focused primarily on the development and deepening of the student's knowledge in the field of Criminal Law. The essence of the course is the development of the student's ability to correctly analyze the legal case, determine the legal standards that apply to the case, and the ability to correctly apply the selected legal standard. Students must also be able to present their legal case scientifically. Therefore, both semesters of Philosophical and Methodological Foundations of Law and both semesters of Scientific and Pedagogical Propaedeutics are necessary prerequisites of the course. The essence of the course is the participation of the student in professional seminars, where students receive a complex criminal case. This case has to be solved by self-study according to the requirements of the seminar tutor and then presented to the lecturer not only to the teacher but also to the other students of the study program so that they will succeed in the subsequent scientific discussion that will provoke their solution. The presentation of the solution emphasizes on the presentation of selected methodological procedures, as well as literature and case law, which the student used in the solution. The seminar is conceived as a four-semester course, with emphasis on selected institutes of criminal law within each semester. The second semester focuses primarily on a specific part of substantive criminal law, but given that the study program is a graduate of the master's degree program, the knowledge of the entire criminal law is assumed and emphasis is placed on all the issues involved, including the procedural context.
Students who have completed this course will gain the knowledge necessary to understand the features of law.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
Active participation in 80% of seminars (full-time students) including presentations on a given topic. The part-time student must attend at least 30% of seminars and two-hour individual consultations.
