Course content
The content of this teaching takes of problems of hepalogy on the level of pregradual education. Students are educated on all diseases in hepalogy it means their etiopathogenesis, clinical and laboratory findings, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis. The content takes also of basic principles of the differencial diagnosis of this disorders.

Learning outcomes
The aim is to master diagnosis, therapy and prognosis of internal diseases in the specialities gastroenterology. On the basis of a case history and physical examination, students shoud be able to form the preliminary diagnosis and to develop an adequate strategy of other supporting examinations leading to the definite diagnosis. From the prognostic point of view, the aim is to realistically evaluate the probable duration of the disease and its treatment and the effect of the dissease on the patient´s chance for survival. The second part of this education are general principles of nutrition especially of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary illness.
By acquiring all the above mentioned skills the student will be able from a view of hepatology, hematology and transfusion medicine to pass the following ten weeks taking practical training before the state examination. The main content of this training is a procedure of differential diagnosis in the internal medicine.

Assumptions are met by completing the course prerequisites.
IN0/VAA11 and FYZ/VAA11 and FYZ/VAB12 and HIE/VAA12 and LCH/VAA20 and CJA/VAB42

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Student performance

Program of practical exercise: The theoretical knowledge of each student will be checked at the beginning of each lesson. Having passed the introductory test the student will investigate a patient and writes a detailed report, which will be discussed with the teacher and evaluated. Finaly, the student receives the teacher ´s signature in his personal card. Students are entitled to obtain "practicavit" for the sixth semestr after having absolved all 15 obligatory exercises according to the schedule above.
