Learning outcomes
The course is a basic subject forming the third pillar of the study programme, focusing on the development of professional skills and general competences of the student, specifically on the student's ability to present the acquired knowledge and skills in a scientific text and in a professional scientific forum. The course is designed as a four-semester course, with the demands of student performance in the course increasing as the semesters progress. The course builds primarily on the philosophical-methodological foundations of law and scientific propedeutics and is designed for students of Legal History and Roman Law programme. During the semester, as in the second and third semesters of the course, the student is obliged to choose a topic for his/her scientific paper in cooperation with his/her supervisor (identify the problem to be solved) and to prepare the scientific paper in such a way that it is eligible for presentation at a scientific conference (ability to present the solution to the chosen problem). Active participation in the conference includes the written preparation of the paper and its publication in the conference proceedings or other conference output. In the event that the conference proceedings are not prepared, this obligation may exceptionally be waived in agreement with the supervisor. At this stage of the study, the student must have already completed the core part of his/her dissertation. Therefore, in order to successfully complete the course, the student is required to submit to his/her supervisor a complete dissertation passage of at least 50 pages of text.
The student's ability to present the acquired knowledge and skills in a scientific text and at a professional scientific forum.
