The ATLS conception and why it has been developed. Priciples of primary survay. Principles of airway management and cervical spine immobilization. Priciples of breathing and ventilation management. Principles of circulation management. Principles of assessment and primary treatment of CNS injuries. Principles of patient logrolling and transportation.

Learning outcomes
|
Present the algorithm of primary care of polytraumatized patients. Demonstrate of particular steps of ATLS algorithm. Facilitate practical training of selcted procedures and techniques usable for the management of polytraumatized patients.
At the end of this seminary, students should be able to: Know the algorithm of primary care of polytraumatized patients, described particular steps of ATLS algorithm, apply selected procedures and techniques usable for the managemnt of polytraumatized patients.

Command of human anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of basic surgical terminology.
