Course content
Complex and topical prevention. Important role of nutrition, fluorine in prevention of caries, effect. Application of ozone in prevention and management of caries. Creation of preventive programmes, communication with patients in dental medicine. Clinical examination of a patient. Assessment of dentition hygiene and propensity to caries formation. Practical training aimed at the use tools for caries management, clinical examination of a patient, assessment of the level of oral hygiene and instructions for home care.

Learning outcomes
Principal issues in prevention and prophylaxis in dentistry. Oral health and its relation to the overall health state, the most frequent pathological changes in mouth cavity, caries and periodontal diseases. Lectures are focused on the dental caries diagnosis and its treatment. In practical trainings students learn about examination and professional oral hygiene.
Clinical examination, modification of hygiene, instruction on home care. Test, knowledge control.

Knowledges of previous subjects.
