Course content

Genetic information and mutagenesis, inheritance in multicellular organisms, mendelian and non-mendelian inheritance, gonosomal inheritance, gene linkage, inborn chromosomal abnormalities, molecular basis of selected disorders, inborn errors of tooth development, genetic prognosis, biology of immune system, biology of inflammation, genetics of immunity, population genetics, stem cells, viruses.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject advances the subject matter of secondary school genetics and extends the students' knowledge of genetics with special attention to human genetics. The seminars are designed to teach students how to use theoretical genetics in clinical medicine.
The subject allows the students to use their theoretical knowledge in genetics for studying human diseases.

|
Basic knowledge of biology corresponding to the 4-year grammar school level.

Mark, Oral exam, Written exam, Dialog, Seminar Work
The attendance of obligatory lab works and seminars in regular or in substitute terms; passed tests; written protocols based on the lab work. Semester credit. Written and oral examination after the second semester of study. Examination.
