Learning outcomes
The course is conceived as theoretical and is complex part of subjects enabling students to work in all spheres of health care. Students will learn to use different methods of work to promote the health of individuals, groups and communities in association with the risk of healthcare associated infections. They will be familiar with the development of antibiotic resistance in the most common bacterial pathogens. An integral part is familiarization with legal norms and professional terminology based on legislation related to the subject.
After completing the course the student should be acquainted with the EU and Czech legislation in relation to the risk of healthcare associated infections. They should be able to respond to emergencies such as an epidemic of parasitic disease (scabies) in a healthcare facility, to prepare a seminar on the importance of hand disinfection with alcohol disinfectants.
