Course content
Morphology as one of the basic linguistic disciplines. The aim of the second block of lectures is to give an overview of the German declination and comparison. Discussed are also inflexible word classes. The content of the seminars is to work with grammatical exercises. Separation of nouns Declension of nouns Using members Plural nouns Adjectives Numerals Pronouns Adverbs Prepositions

Learning outcomes

Student will be able to explain basic morphological concepts and theories related to the German substantives, adjectives, pronouns, numerals, adverbs and prepositions. Student describes the various categories of word classes. Student can handle the practical aspects of morphology, ie. using learned terms in practical exercises.

Active participation in class. Elaboration of given tasks. 80% presence in seminars. Completion of test (70% = passing). Oral exam after passing the test.
