Course content
Morphology as one of the basic linguistic disciplines. Lectures provide an overview of the German verb: division of verbs and their categories. The content of the seminars is to work with grammatical exercises. Introduction to morphology Division of verbs according to morphological, syntactic and semantic criteria Weak and strong verbs The verb tenses The verbal ways The verb genera Functional verb phrases Indeterminate verb forms (infinitive, participle)

Learning outcomes

Student will be able to explain basic morphological concepts and theories related to the German verb. Student describes the various verbal categories. Student understands the principles of verb tenses, modes and families. Student can handle the practical aspects of morphology, ie. using learned terms in practical exercises.

Active participation in class. Elaboration of given tasks. 80% presence in seminars. Completion of test (70% = passing).
