Course content
The course comprises of two subsequent lessons. The content of the first lesson is a brief theoretical presentation about surgical suture techniques and methods of knotting, which is followed by its practical application. Students will independently, under the instructor's supervision, practice skin and subcutaneous layer incisions on simulators (artificial skin models), and perform interrupted and continuous sutures. Students will have the opportunity to try to perform sutures on models of tendons and intestines. The second lessons aims to familiarise students with laparoscopic surgical technique. After a brief theoretical introduction, the students will independently, under the instructor's supervision, work with laparoscopic instruments on simulators and learn basic laparoscopic skills.

Learning outcomes
Theoretical preparation and practical training of basic surgical sutures and knotting, as well as fundamental laparoscopic techniques.
After completion of the course, students will be theoretically and practically capable of independently suturing an uncomplicated skin incision. They will also understand the principles of tendon and intestinal sutures and fundamental laparoscopic techniques.
