Seminar Topics: Historical development of the legal regulation of insurance Nowadays legal regulation of insurance. The fundamental idea of Insurance act and other legal sources. Fundamental legal institutions related to insurance. Private and public insurance law. Insurance as a legal relation. Connection with the law of torts. Type of mandatory and statutory insurance. Insurance of persons and property. Creation and finalization of insurance. Participants of insurance, subject and content of insurance. The consequences of the breach of obligation in the insurance law Insurance conditions, Contract of insurance Multiple insurance, coinsurance, insurance value.

Learning outcomes
|
Optional course Law of Insurance follows up the compulsory course Law of contracts and deeper and widen its topics. Students will become familiar with the main features of the legal regulation of insurance with an accentuation of private-law part of this regulation. Important par of the course covers evaluation of the relevant case-law.
Students who have completed this course will deeper the knowledge gained in the general course of Contract law. They also gain skill to understand and use special features of insurance law in practice.

Seminar Work
It is essential that those students who would like to pass the course must have active participation within the scope set by the seminar teacher and they also must succeed in the colloquium.
