The student understands the cultural conditioning of play and is able to practically reflect this knowledge when working with members of minority communities, refugee families, and similar groups. They are familiar with the specifics and potential challenges of play in interactions with vulnerable clients ? particularly with ill children, clients with disabilities, patients in palliative or hospice care, and clients from socially disadvantaged or excluded groups. The student can distinguish between play activities with a specialized focus and broader objectives, and free community play. They are capable of using play as an analytical and interpretive tool.
