The lectures and seminars will focus on the issue of special education intervention for families with children with combined disabilities in preschool age and according to selected age categories according to the study focus. 1. Hearing and visual impairment in combination with other disabilities. Characteristics of combined disabilities. Etiology. Syndromes. 2. Theory of combined disability, syndrome 3. Diagnostic approaches 4. Legislative environment for educational work with children and clients with combined disabilities. 5. Helping professions and their role. Burnout syndrome and the role of supervision. 6. Theoretical background to education and training of persons with CP. 7. Collaboration between SPPG, medicine and social care. 8. Impaired communication system and some causes and possibilities of compensation. 9. Basics of education of persons with combined disabilities. 10. Internal conditions for education. External conditions and their possible adjustments. 11. Specific features of modification of the environment for intervention and counselling of persons with CP in special education. + further information on the website of the teaching institute.

Prerequisites
Mastering the basics of special education.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Written exam

- A minimum of 80% active participation in seminars/exercises is required to receive credit. - Study results (ability to connect theory and practice) will be verified through the completion of individually assigned tasks in seminars. - Final verification of knowledge through a written test with a minimum 75% pass rate.
