Course content
The course is focused on general English. It develops the knowledge of lexical-grammatical structures in comparison with Czech language. There is emphasis on communicative English, and development reading. The content covers grammar and vocabulary comprised in Unit 7-12 of the assigned main course material.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the language teaching is the development, acquisition of skills in general English. The focus is mainly on grammar structures in comparison with Czech language, vocabulary development and reading skills.
Ability to use English in everyday situations.
Prerequisites
Students are supposed to have knowledge of English language at A2/B1 level of CEFR . This knowledge covers all language skills including reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing and speaking. The requirements also include knowledge of grammar and vocabulary at the requested level.

Assessment methods and criteria

To pass a final test that is structured as a standardized test aimed at the A2/B1 level knowledge covering the Use of English, Vocabulary, Reading and Listening parts. Passing line is 66%. Dictionaries cannot be used during tests.
