Course content
1. Definition of quality in health care, management and quality management in the context of international organizations (OECD, WHO) and national strategy 2020. 2. Standards of health care, their purpose, methodology of creating standards, measuring compliance with standards, audits. 3. Standards aimed at patients in terms of availability, continuity of care, diagnostic and therapeutic care, patients' rights and their loved ones. 4. Standards focused on hospital management in terms of quality and safety of care, disease prevention, personnel management. 5. Accreditation of medical facilities, quality management models - standards (ISO, EFQM, JCIA, SAK ČR). 6. Continuous improvement of quality - definition, conditions, strategies, tools and techniques, role of manager, motivation of staff. 7. Personnel qualification and training, corporate culture, mission, vision, goals, motivational programs. 8. Methods of quality evaluation. 9. Quality of health care in the Czech Republic (OECD study, 2014). 10. Quality and safety of health care in University Hospital Olomouc.

Learning outcomes
The quality of health care and its safety is one of the main priorities of health care provision in the Czech Republic. It requires the development of standards and standards, followed by compliance and quality control.
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the evaluation of quality and safety in the provision of health care in the Czech Republic in the context of international recommendations and experience, with the quality management system in accordance with the applicable standards, with the status and tasks of the Accreditation Commission
